You and Me

Even though you share your name with many,
to me you will always be the only one.
Even though you mightn't think yourself special,
you will always be the only one I want.

And when you say you don't deserve me,
I'll tell you again how much I love you.
Even though you never say it back,
I do know how much you care.

Even though people don't expect our us to last,
we'll surely make it through.
Even though you may not believe me,
I will always hold on to you.

Even though we're contradicting,
you and me are meant to be.

A poem I wrote in June, last year. I accidentally stumbled across it and thought it would be nice to post it here.

This afternoon, I saw another sign of spring. Little lambs lay with mother sheep in the green grass, bathing in the sun. It was peaceful.
